Linda Fisher
Linda Carrol Fisher passed away February 18 after a long battle with pancreatic cancer.
She was born in Eldad, Tenn. to parents Marshall Tyler and Margie Meredith Prince in 1942.
Mrs. Fisher was a graduate of Gibson High School where she was active in the Beta Club, FHA, paper staff and a Wildcat cheerleader. After graduation she worked in accounting and book keeping throughout her career. She retired from Old Country Auto in 2019 and returned to her family home in Gibson, Tenn. where she was living at the time of her death. She was known for her strong will, steadfast independence, creativity and her deep love for her family and church.
Along with her husband, she was a devoted member of Double Springs Cumberland Presbyterian Church where she served as a Sunday schoolteacher and Elder.
Mrs. Fisher is survived by her daughters, Tammie (David) Koelz of Beaverton, Ore., Jackie (Phil) Orr of Memphis, Tenn.; five grandchildren, Lee (Katie) Koelz of Naples, Italy, Derrill (HanNa) Koelz of Chantilly, Va., Shelby (Huw) Smith of Beaverton, Payton Murphy of Lavinia, Tenn., and Finn Orr of Memphis; six great-grandchildren, Jacob, Adam and Everett Koelz of Naples, Italy, Ian Koelz of Chantilly, Alice and Thomas Smith of Beaverton; brothers, Gary (Linda) Prince of Milan, Tenn. and David (Beverly) Prince of Gibson; sisters, Patsy Sutton of Milan and Mona (Ronnie) Graves of Milan; sister-in-law, Louise Prince of Gibson; 10 nieces and nephews, 22 great-nieces and nephews, 24 great-great-nieces and nephews; and many close life long friends.
In addition to her parents, Mrs. Fisher was preceded in death by her husband, Derrill Fisher; daughter, Jennifer Murphy Hurbis; great-granddaughter, Yuna Koelz; niece, Emily Prince; brothers, Randall, Jerry and Larry Prince; and sister, Marilyn Gill.
Visitation was held from 11 a.m. – 1 p.m. Saturday, February 22, 2025 at Double Springs Cumberland Presbyterian Church in Gibson with service following at 1 p.m. Pastor Russell Little officiated.
Pallbearers were sons-in-law, David Koelz, Phil Orr; grandsons, Payton Murphy and Finn Orr; nephew, Randy Prince; brother, David Prince.
Honorary pallbearers were her brother, Gary Prince, and her nieces and nephews, Denise Warren, Theresa James, Lisa Shaver, Ricky Sutton, Mike Sutton, Karen Smith, Cary Prince, Ashley McCartney and Tyler Prince.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Double Springs Cumberland Presbyterian Church. Arrangements entrusted to Replogle-Lawrence Funeral Home.
