Susan Kay Dougan

Susan Kay Clanton Dougan, 73, of Humboldt, passed away peacefully on April 7, 2025 surrounded by her loving family. Susan was born to the late Leon and Katie Clanton on August 6, 1951 in Humboldt. She attended school in the Madison County school system and graduated from North Side High School in 1969. After graduation, Susan attended the University of Tennessee at Martin where she graduated with a degree in education.

In her free time, Susan enjoyed reading, sewing, tending to her plants and flowers, and taking day trips with her sisters and friends. Her favorite activity was spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren. She often cooked large meals for her family and made sure each holiday was celebrated in a special way.

Susan was a member of Central Avenue Christian Church where she taught children in Sunday School and volunteered with Vacation Bible School each summer. She was a deaconess and part of the Christian Womens Fellowship, and she also enjoyed taking monthly trips with the Ramblers.
