Edwina Lee Mitchum

Funeral services for Mrs. Edwina Mitchum were held at 3 p.m. Sunday, August 25, 2024 at The Church at Sugar Creek with Dr. Greg McFadden officiating. Burial followed in Rose Hill Cemetery. 

Mrs. Mitchum, 82, passed away Thursday, August 22, 2024, at her home in Jackson. 

She was born in Brownsville, Tenn. to the late Edward Earl Butler and Mary Belle (Jones) Butler.

Mrs. Mitchum was retired from First Horizon Bank and was a faithful member of The Church at Sugar Creek in Humboldt. 

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, J. W. Mitchum; and sister, Jean Beatty. 

Mrs. Mitchum is survived by her son, Roger Smith and wife Sandy; step-daughters, Alison McKnight and Melissa Mitchum; grandchildren, Tiffany Walls, Joe Scott (Laschelle), Halee Monroe (Blake), Caleb Henson (Taylor), McKenna Jewell (Michael), Dustin Mittel (Alyssa), Blake McKnight (Lyndsay), John Clayton McKnight; great-grandchildren, Keeley and Gentry Walls, Mckenzie, Remington, Browning, Maddalyn, Lyric and Paisley Mittel, Mason Scott, Aurora Henson, Wyatt and Norah McKnight.

Those honoring her as pallbearers are Blake McKnight, Caleb Henson, Blake Monroe, Michael Jewel, Joe Scott and Raymond Beatty. 

Honorary pallbearers will be Roger Ziegler, John Clayton McKnight and Jeff Woods.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to The Church at Sugar Creek, Building Fund, 3400 E. Mitchell St., Humboldt, TN 38343.
