Peabody boys become new No. 1 in West Tennessee Basketball Rankings after Week 8

A pair of one-point games decided the new No. 1 team in the West Tennessee High School Basketball Rankings on the boys’ side.

Previous No. 1 Henry County took a 56-55 loss to Westview for the first loss on the season, which dropped the Patriots from No. 1.

Peabody picked up a 46-45 win over Ripley to stay with one loss on the season, so the Golden Tide are the new No. 1 team in all of West Tennessee.

Westview and Dyer County picked up some big wins this week, and those two are back in the boys’ rankings for a crazy first week to 2026.

Here are the top 15 high school basketball teams going into Week 9 of the season:

BOYS
