Melinda Jean Stanton

Melinda Jean Stanton, 63, of Milan, Tenn., was called home to be with the Lord on November 5, 2024.

Born on February 16, 1961 in Humboldt, Tenn., Mrs. Stanton was the beloved wife of Danny Stanton and a cherished mother to Robert and Daniel Pierson.

Mrs. Stanton’s faith in God guided her life and was the foundation of her strength and compassion. Known for her unwavering kindness, she touched many lives through her dedication to jail ministries in Gibson and Madison counties, the Emmaus community and Casa para Ninos in Guatemala. She loved her church family at Love & Truth Church in Jackson, Tenn. and loved every opportunity she had to worship together. With a gentle spirit and a heart full of love, Mrs. Stanton was drawn to her calling of helping senior adults, serving them with warmth and kindness.

Mrs. Stanton’s sons were her heart and soul. She found true joy in every moment spent with them, and her greatest happiness came from being surrounded by their love and laughter. To her, they were everything, and she poured her heart into nurturing and guiding them with unwavering devotion.

She was a loving wife, mother and friend, and her legacy of love and faith will live on in those she leaves behind, husband, Danny Stanton; children, Robert Pierson (Kimberly) and Daniel Pierson (Hannah); fur-babies, Bear and Daisy; step-children, Gene (Nikki) Hilton, Johnathan Stanton and Jennifer (Jeremy) Doede; step-grandchildren, Grace, Ella, Drake, Ellie and Addy; siblings Marshall Canady and Judy Mouser; and a host of loved friends.

Visitation will be held at 10 a.m. on November 8 with a celebration of her life following at 12 p.m. at Bodkin Funeral Home, where loved ones can gather to honor her memory and give thanks for her life. She will be laid to rest at Eldad Baptist Church in Humboldt alongside her beloved mother, Shirley Canady, and her grandparents, Velma and Lonnie Berry.
