Week 11 of the high school football season is here. Hard to believe that next week, we will be talking about playoff matchups.

Two Weakley County teams – Dresden and Westview have secured playoff spots and home games in the first round. Greenfield has the potential to secure a playoff spot this week.

I went 11-4 with my picks last week, including a 4-0 mark with my picks involving teams in the county.

In picking Weakley County games, I am now 27-6 (.818 winning percentage) on the season.

My four misses last week were Huntingdon’s win over Peabody, Liberty’s win over West Carroll, Jackson Central-Merry’s win over Union City and Harding Academy’s win over Fayette Academy.

Through 10 weeks, I am 105-37 (.739) over all in my picks.

Here is hoping for a strong finish to the regular season in Week 11:

Covington (9-0, 5-0 7-3A) at Westview (8-0, 5-0)

The Region 7-3A title is on the line in this one. Westview won twice last season on the way to reaching the Class 3A title game. Can they do that again?

Greenfield (5-4, 3-2 7-1A) at Gleason (3-6, 2-3)

The Yellowjackets are close to locking in the No. 3 seed from Region 7-1A and playing in the Class 1A playoffs. But what would a county rivalry be without the chance of an upset to cause chaos?

Lake County (5-4, 2-3 7-1A) at Dresden (7-2, 5-0)

The Lions have secured the No. 1 seed from Region 7-1A. So they want to stay healthy and be ready for the playoffs. Lake County still has an outside shot of getting into the playoffs, so Dresden will have to come to play.
