Maybe picking games when the Weakley County teams were on Fall break wasn’t a good idea. 

I had one of my worst weeks of the 2025 season, as I went 10-5 with my Week 9 high school football picks. 

I stayed 23-6 (.793 winning percentage) with my Weakley County picks since no team played. 

I missed South Gibson’s win over Crockett County, Humboldt’s win over Lake County, Dyer County’s win over University School of Jackson, South Fulton’s win over Obion County and Giles County’s win over North Side.

After nine weeks of the season, I am 94-33 (.707) with my picks across West Tennessee.

Only two weeks remain in the regular season, so here is look for a strong Week 10 of picks:

Westview (7-0, 4-0 7-3A) at Dyersburg (5-3, 3-1)

The Chargers face a Trojans’ team that held Covington to 14 points in the first half last week. Westview’s offense must be ready coming off the bye week.

Odom’s Pick: Westview 42, Dyersburg 28

South Fulton (7-1, 3-1 7-1A) at Dresden (6-2, 4-0)

The Region 7-1A championship will be decided in this game. Dresden is unbeaten and is on a six-game winning streak.

Lake County (5-3, 2-2 7-1A) at Greenfield (4-4, 2-2)

The winner of this one will most likely be in the Class 1A playoffs. Humboldt threw for 550 yards last week on the Falcons. Can the Yellowjackets do the same?

Gleason (3-5, 2-2 7-1A) at Humboldt (3-5, 2-3)

To have the chance to make the playoffs, these two teams must win this region showdown. Humboldt is coming off its best offensive performance of the season last week, but the Bulldogs beat Lake County also this season.
