Jackson Christian moves up to No. 6 in West Tennessee High School Football Rankings after Week 5
Another week of football is in the books, and there were lots of big games.
Fans have figured out that Region 7-4A in loaded as teams are beating each other right and left, and no team remaining undefeated in region play. And don’t try guessing winners – just look at our pick’em column.
Region 7-2A isn’t much easier. There are multiple quality teams in the region. But we are at the halfway point in the season, so check out the new West Tennessee High School Football Rankings.
No new teams are added, but Jackson Christian and University School of Jackson are still undefeated the biggest risers this week.
So here are the top 15 teams in West Tennessee heading into Week 6 action:
1. Westview (4-0) – The Chargers beat McNairy Central 70-0 in Region 7-3A play. Next week: Home vs. Lausanne. Last week: No. 1.
2. Milan (5-0) – The Bulldogs beat Gibson County 46-6 in Region 7-2A play. Next week: Home vs. Jackson Central-Merry. Last week: No. 2.
3. Munford (4-0) – The Cougars beat Haywood 51-28. Next week: At Whitehaven. Last week: No. 3.
4. Covington (5-0) – The Chargers beat Obion County 63-8 in Region 7-3A play. Next week: At Ripley. Last week: No. 4.
5. Peabody (5-0) – The Golden Tide beat Douglass 56-0. Next week: Home vs. Union City. Last week: No. 5.
6. Jackson Christian (5-0) – The Eagles beat Fayette Academy 49-8 in Division II-A West Region play. Next week: At Tipton-Rosemark. Last week: No. 8.
7. USJ (5-0) – The Bruins beat FACS 48-6 in Division II-A West Region play. Next week: At Harding Academy. Last week: No. 9.
8. Haywood (3-2) – The Tomcats Lost to Munford 51-28. Next week: Home vs. Fayette-Ware. Last week: No. 6.
9. Huntingdon (4-1) – The Mustangs beat Jackson Central-Merry 27-7 in Region 7-2A play. Next week: At Gibson County. Last week: No. 11.
10. Dyer County (4-1) – The Choctaws lost to North Side 57-27 in Region 7-4A play. Next week: At South Gibson. Last week: No. 10.
11. Crockett County (4-1) – The Cavaliers beat Hardin County 38-7 in Region 7-4A play. Next week: At North Side. Last week: No. 12.
12. Lexington (4-1) – The Tigers beat Chester County 40-7 in Region 7-4A play. Next week: At South Side. Last week: No. 14.
13. North Side (3-1) – The Indians Dyer County 57-27 in Region 7-4A play. Next week: Home vs. Crockett County. Last week: No. 15.
14. McKenzie (4-1) – The Rebels beat Camden 50-14. Next week: At Chester County. Last week: No. 13.
