Two weeks in, and two weeks of going 10-5 with my high school football picks.

I went 2-1 with my Weakley County picks, missing Bruceton’s win over Gleason.

But I also missed Covington’s win over Haywood, Rossville Christian’s win over Fayette Academy, South Side’s win over Jackson Central-Merry and Jackson Christian’s win over DCA.

So I am 20-10 (.667 winning percentage) after two weeks.

So here is looking for better finishes in Week 3:

Dresden (0-2) at West Carroll (1-1)

When: 7 p.m., Friday

The Lions will want to leave the last two weeks in the past because it is time for Region 7-1A play to begin. Dresden has to find a way to contain Mason Taylor, and if the Lions do that, they can go 1-0 in region play.

Westview (1-0) at Marshall County (1-1)

When: 7 p.m., Friday

The Chargers are going on the road to play the Class 4A Mr. Football winner, but Westview boasts the Class 3A finalist in Graham Simpson (who I voted to win the award). Westview has had two weeks to prepare for this one.

Greenfield (1-1) at Bruceton (2-0)

When: 7 p.m., Friday

The Yellowjackets got their offense going last week at Stewart County, and they will need to keep it going this week against a Bruceton team that scored late to knock off Gleason.

Odom’s Pick: Greenfield 24, Bruceton 18

Gleason (1-1) at Obion County (2-0)

When: 7 p.m., Friday

The Rebels have had two easy wins so far this season. Gleason will try to give them a bigger test in Week 3. Gage Byington will be the best player on the field, so it will be interesting how the Bulldogs get him the ball.
