Jackson Christian, USJ enter West Tennessee High School Football Rankings after Week 2

There have been plenty of good games and close results, and the season is only two weeks old.

For the second straight week, two teams fell out of the rankings and two new teams entered the rankings.

The two new teams that entered the West Tennessee High School Football Rankings are from the Division II-A ranks as Jackson Christian and USJ are off to 2-0 starts.

Week 3 will be here soon, so here are the top 15 teams in rural West Tennessee:

1. Westview (1-0) – The Chargers had their first of two bye weeks this season. Next week: At Marshall County. Last week: No. 1.

2. Milan (2-0) – The Bulldogs beat South Gibson 14-10. Next week: Home vs. Huntingdon. Last week: No. 2.

3. Munford (2-0) – The Cougars beat Millington 46-6. Next week: At Woodford County (Ky.). Last week: No. 4.

4. Covington (2-0) – The Chargers beat Haywood 55-42. Next week: Home vs. Douglass. Last week: No. 5.

5. Crockett County (2-0) – The Cavaliers beat Ripley 30-6 in a game called after one quarter due to lighting. Next week: At Lexington. Last week: No. 7.

6. Haywood (1-1) – The Tomcats lost to Covington 55-42. Next week: At Craigmont. Last week: No. 3.

7. North Side (1-0) – The Indians did not play. Next week: At South Side. Last week: No. 6.

8. Peabody (2-0) – The Golden Tide beat Humboldt 42-18. Next week: Home vs. Gibson County. Last week: No. 9.

9. Huntingdon (2-0) – The Mustangs beat Camden 35-0. Next week: At Milan. Last week: No. 11.

10. Adamsville (2-0) – The Cardinals beat Chester County 14-12. Next week: Bye week. Last week: No. 13.

11. McKenzie (1-1) – The Rebels beat Dresden 44-7. Next week: At Christian County (Ky.). Last week: No. 14.

12. Chester County (1-1) – The Eagles lost to Adamsville 14-12. Next week: At South Gibson. Last week: No. 12.

13. Lexington (2-0) – The Tigers beat Riverside 34-14. Next week: Home vs. Crockett County. Last week: No. 15.

14. USJ (2-0) – The Bruins beat Evangelical Christian School 28-5. Next week: At TCA. Last week: Not ranked.

15. Jackson Christian (2-0) – The Eagles beat Donelson Christian Academy 31-6. Next week: at Evangelical Christian School. Last week: Not ranked.

Dropped out: Henry County (0-2); JCM (0-2).

On the bubble: Bruceton (2-0); Dyer County (2-0); Obion County (2-0).
