Adamsville, Lexington enter West Tennessee High School Football Rankings after Week 1

One week of games in the book, and what a great week of football. Haywood holding on to beat Henry County on the road, North Side squeaking out a win over JCM, Huntingdon beating McKenzie by 20 points and Westview beating the defending Class 1A state champions to name a few.

Adamsville and Lexington picked up quality wins and moved up far enough to enter this week’s West Tennessee High School Football Rankings.

So with Week 2 on the horizon, here are the top 15 teams in rural West Tennessee:

1. Westview (1-0) – The Chargers beat Memphis Academy of Science & Engineering 34-0. Next week: Bye week. Last week: No. 1.

2. Milan (1-0) – The Bulldogs beat South Side 35-28. Next week: Home vs. South Gibson. Last week: No. 2.

3. Haywood (1-0) – The Tomcats beat Henry County 30-28. Next week: Home vs. Covington. Last week: No. 3.

4. Munford (1-0) – The Cougars beat Memphis Business Academy 62-20. Next week: At Millington. Last week: Apologetically forgotten.

5. Covington (1-0) – The Chargers beat Lakeland Prep 56-21. Next week: At Haywood. Last week: No. 6.

6. North Side (1-0) – The Indians beat JCM 22-20. Next week: Bye week. Last week: No. 10.

7. Crockett County (1-0) – The Cavaliers beat Middle College 56-0. Next week: At Ripley. Last week: No. 9.

8. JCM (0-1) – The Cougars lost to North Side 22-20. Next week: At South Side. Last week: No. 4.

9. Peabody (1-0) – The Golden Tide beat Ripley 42-0. Next week: At Humboldt. Last week: No. 12.

10. Henry County (0-1) – The Patriots lost to Haywood 30-28. Next week: At Giles County. Last week: No. 5.

11. Huntingdon (1-0) – The Mustangs beat McKenzie 41-21. Next week: At Camden. Last week: No. 14.

12. Chester County (1-0) – The Eagles beat Memphis East 75-8. Next week: At Adamsville. Last week: No. 11.
