Westview girls take over No. 1 in West Tennessee Basketball Rankings after Week 7

While snow kept basketball teams off the court over the weekend, there was plenty of basketball action across West Tennessee in the early part of the week.

There is a new No. 1 team in the girls basketball rankings as former No. 2 Westview beat No. 1 Dyersburg on the road.

There are also two new teams in the rankings as Dyersburg boys and Lexington girls are back in the rankings this week.

Lots of district action is the focus this week as teams begin to fight for that No. 1 spot.

Here are the updated West Tennessee High School Basketball Rankings after seven weeks of the regular season:

BOYS

1. South Side (10-1) – Results: Beat JCM 61-52; Beat Hardin County 81-43. This week: Tuesday at Chester County; Friday at North Side. Last week: No. 1.

2. North Side (16-2) – Results: Beat Peabody 72-64; Beat Chester County 62-48. This week: Tuesday vs. Lexington; Friday vs. South Side. Last week: No. 2.
