USJ, Westview boys; TCA girls enter West Tennessee Basketball Rankings after Christmas break

Lots of high school basketball action was played across West Tennessee during the Christmas break. From tournaments in the area to teams traveling across the Southeast to play tough competition, there were good games.

The top two teams in the rankings – South Side boys and Dyersburg girls – remained the same, but Trinity Christian Academy girls, Westview boys and University School of Jackson boys won enough games over the break to prove they are worthy to be ranked this week.

So here are the updated West Tennessee High School Basketball Rankings after the Christmas break:

BOYS

1. South Side (8-1) – Results: Did not play. This week: Tuesday at JCM; Friday at Hardin County. Last week: No. 1.

2. North Side (14-2) – Results: Beat Covington 48-42; Beat East Nashville 73-45; Beat Munford 97-87. This week: Tuesday at Peabody; Friday vs. Chester County. Last week: No. 3.
