The showdown for all the marbles in Region 7-3A is on the docket this week in Weakley County. Undefeated Covington led by 2023 Mr. Football finalist Skylan Smith will come to Hardy Graham Stadium to take on undefeated Westview. 

I was a perfect 3-0 in my Weakley County picks last week, and was 14-1 overall. My lone miss was Hardin County’s victory over South Side.

Overall, I am 116-29 (.800 winning percentage) with my picks this season.

But now we prepare for the final week of the regular season, as next week’s picks will be playoff matchups. So here is Week 11:

Covington (9-0, 6-0 7-3A) at Westview (9-0, 6-0)

Both of these offenses have been tough to stop. This could come down to who has the ball last. Covington’s running game has racked up the yardage, while Graham Simpson has led Westview’s potent offensive attack.

Dresden (4-5, 3-3 7-1A) at Greenfield (5-4, 2-4)

While neither team can get into the Class 1A playoffs, this is a county rivalry and one that both teams want for momentum going into the offseason. Dresden has won four of its last five games.

Halls (7-2, 4-2 7-1A) at Gleason (3-6, 0-6)

Ending a six-game losing streak would be a great way to end the 2024 season for the Bulldogs. But Halls is having one of its best seasons in over a decade.
