Weakley County Football Pick’em: Week 4

Well, my perfection on picking Weakley County games went out the window in Week 3. I underestimated Halls greatly and picked wrong in picking against Lake County.

I was back down to 11-4 last week. I missed Halls’ win over Greenfield and Lake County’s win over Dresden. Outside of the county, I missed South Gibson’s win over Hardin County and FACS beating West Carroll.

So the first round of region games wasn’t kind to me. But I will push through.

Overall, I am 33-11 (.750 winning percentage), and here is to better luck in Week 4:

Humboldt (2-1, 0-0 7-1A) at Greenfield (2-1, 0-1)

After playing one rejuvenated team in Region 7-1A last week and losing on the road, the Yellowjackets have to play a Humboldt team that won back-to-back games for the first time since 2022.

Odom’s Pick: Humboldt 24, Greenfield 21

Halls (3-0, 1-0 7-1A) at Dresden (0-3, 0-1)

The Tigers are coming off a Region 7-1A win by 41 points. Dresden is better than 0-3, but the Lions have to play a full four quarters and give these young players some confidence.

Odom’s Pick: Halls 28, Dresden 21

Gleason (3-0, 0-0 7-1A) at Union City (1-2, 0-0)

While the Golden Tornadoes have a losing record, Union City has played some high-level teams like Dyer County last week. Gleason would have to play its best game of the year to have a chance.

Odom’s Pick: Union City 31, Gleason 21

Westview (3-0, 1-0 7-3A) at Liberty (0-2, 0-0)

The Chargers scored 70 points in one half of play last week at Scotts Hill. There is no telling how many points could be scored this week against a rebuilding Liberty team.
