Taylor Paterson named Milan baseball coach

It didn’t take long for the Milan administration to find the next baseball coach to lead the program.
And they didn’t have to look far either.

Taylor Paterson has been promoted from assistant coach to head coach of the Bulldogs.

“Milan High School is excited to announce Taylor Paterson as the next head coach of our baseball team,” Milan principal Jennifer Yates said. “Coach Paterson is part of a long tradition of excellence at MHS. As an assistant, he has made a positive impact on team culture and contributed to our success. We look forward to his tenure as head coach.”

Paterson replaces Greg Scott, who resigned after this past season.

Paterson has been an assistant coach under Scott for the past two seasons. Milan has reached the state tournament each of the past two seasons, finishing runner-up in 2023 and top four in 2024.

“I am very excited and thankful for the opportunity to be the next head baseball coach at Milan,” Paterson said. “Having grown up in the community, played baseball here myself, and served as an assistant coach, I have great respect and pride in the tradition of Milan baseball. I plan to continue the excellence that Milan has come to expect, as well as, bring a strong mentality for development and pride towards our student athletes and Milan baseball. I am excited to get started.”

Paterson’s wife Rebecca is the high school volleyball coach.
