Frances Reasons
Virginia Frances Coleman Reasons, 88, a native of Humboldt, Tenn. and a resident of Fairhope, Ala., passed away peacefully Tuesday, May 25, 2021.
A memorial service will be held in Humboldt on July 10, 2021, at Shelton-Hunt Funeral Home at 2 p.m., with the visitation beginning at 12 noon.
Mrs. Reasons was preceded in death by her loving husband, James Louis Reasons; her parents, Lloyd and Susie Coleman; brothers, Bill Coleman and Chuck Coleman; and sister, Sue Reasons.
She is survived by her children, LaDonna (Donnie) White of Marlow, Ala. and James Gregory (Tammy) Reasons of Fairhope, Ala.; two grandchildren, Courtney Reynolds of Loxley, Ala. and Cliff (Samantha) Snellgrove of Horseheads, N.Y.; two bonus grandchildren, Jonathan (Kelly) Stinson and Allyson Stinson; eight great-grandchildren, Dylan Snellgrove, Dean Snellgrove, Simone Snellgrove, Silas Reynolds, Lucas Reynolds, Delaney Reynolds, Cameron Stinson and Missy Stinson; and many loving nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Mrs. Reasons graduated from Peabody High School in Trenton, Tenn. and attended Memphis State University where she received her B.S. and eventually her M.Ed.
She was a member of Delta Kappa Gamma Society and an active member of First (Evangelical) Presbyterian Church in Humboldt.
Her hobbies included sewing, reading and working her crossword puzzles and word games, but her one true passion was teaching. She spent 40 years teaching math to countless students in the Humboldt City School System. She will be remembered and missed by all for her love, generosity and kindness.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Shriner’s Hospitals for Children or St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
