Funeral services for Mrs. Mary Elizabeth Blackwell, 75, were held at 11 a.m. on Thursday, May 20, 2021 in the Shelton-Hunt Funeral Home chapel. Burial followed in Old Gibson Cemetery. Visitation was Thursday from 9 a.m. until service time.

Mrs. Blackwell, a beautician, passed away on Monday, May 17, 2021 in the Jackson-Madison County General Hospital.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Opal Odell and Blondell Baker.

Mrs. Blackwell is survived by her husband, Mark Blackwell; a daughter, Dana (Matt) Holmes of Trenton, Tenn.; a son, William Dale (Vivian) Blackwell of Americus, Ga.; two sisters, Jean Bledsoe and Nell Jobe, both of Jackson, Tenn.; a brother, Tony Baker of Jackson; and four grandchildren, William Blackwell, Sidney Blackwell, Parker Holmes and Callie Holmes.
