Funeral services for Mrs. Melda C. Scroggins, 83, were held at 2 p.m., Sunday, February 28, 2021 at the Shelton Funeral Home chapel. Burial followed in Hopewell Cemetery. Visitation was held from 4 until 8 p.m., Saturday, February 27, 2021 at the funeral home. All services followed appropriate social distancing protocols, with facemasks required, as set forth by the CDC and state of Tennessee.

Mrs. Scroggins passed away Thursday, February 25, 2021 at Diversicare of Martin, Tenn.

She was preceded in death by her parents, George and Ida B. Ray; her husband, Robert Scroggins; three brothers; and two sisters.

Mrs. Scroggins is survived by her daughter, Paula Reasons (Rick) of Gadsden, Tenn.; her sons, Curtis Laman and Tim Laman and (Rosie) of Maury City, Tenn.; grandchildren, Chris McHugh (Becky) of Gibson Wells, Tenn., Meagan Reasons of Bells, Tenn., Lane Laman (Sara) of Brownsville, Tenn. and Landon Laman of Maury City; great-grandchildren, Lucas Reasons and Reece Laman; two brothers; five sisters; and extended family.
