Charles Wesley Wood

 Funeral services for Mr. Charles Wesley Wood were held 1 p.m. Monday, November 16, 2020, in the chapel of Replogle-Lawrence Funeral Home with Rev. Kenny Perry officiating. Burial followed in Rose Hill Cemetery in Humboldt.

 Mr. Wood, 66, passed away at his home in Hermitage, Tenn. surrounded by his loving family.

 He was born in Humboldt, Tenn. to the late Wesley Scarborough Wood and Emma Sue Cox Wood.

Mr. Wood attended school at Pope Elementary and West Elementary in Jackson. He was employed at Double Tree Inn for 15 years in Jackson, Tenn. Mr. Wood also worked at the Arc of Tennessee, People First, Self-Advocating Mentor and DIDD all in Nashville, Tenn. Charles was a wonderful Advocate for Individuals with Intellectual Disabilities. Some of his favorite hobbies were fishing, painting and drawing. He enjoyed collecting coins, pocket knives, and the occasional drawer full of condiments.

 He is survived by his brother, Gary Lynn Wood and wife Vickie Lee Wood; aunt, Jonnie Petty and husband Bob Petty; lifelong girlfriend, Tonya Reed.

 Mr. Wood lived in the Nashville area the last 14 years of his life, and most recently supported by Mid-TN Supported Living.  Willow Brook Hospice provided his final medical care.

Pallbearers to serve will be Rick Petty and John (Squirrel) Denny; honorary pallbearer, Bob Petty.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Mid-TN Supported Living, 1161 Murfreesboro Pike, Suite 215, Nashville, TN 37217. Please include donation in memory of Charles W. Wood.

Arrangements were entrusted to Replogle-Lawrence Funeral Home, Medina.
