Rodney Alan Wallsmith

Rodney Alan Wallsmith, 73 of Humboldt, Tenn., died Sunday, October 11, 2020 at Jackson-Madison County General Hospital.  

Mr. Wallsmith was born July 3, 1947 in Humboldt. 

He attended U.T. Martin.

He worked for many years at GMAC in Paducah, Ky. and Memphis, Tenn.  There he met his wife of 47 years, Rosalee (Cricket) Baker Wallsmith. After leaving GMAC, he moved his family to Daphne, Ala. and became a realtor and business broker, owning his own companies: Cricket Realty & Management and Ideal Business Brokers. After retirement, he moved home to Humboldt.

Mr. Wallsmith was an avid animal lover, always rescuing a stray. He enjoyed playing the drums, playing golf and writing. He authored a book, Booze, Blood, and Justice, and had several poems published.

He is survived by his wife; children, Richard Torti and Ashley Wallsmith; granddaughters, Samantha, Isabella and Abigail Torti; brother, Mike (Joy) Wallsmith; and many nephews and nieces, and great-nephews and great-nieces.

Mr. Wallsmith was preceded in death by his parents, Clyde Franklin and Elizabeth Catherine (Goff) Wallsmith; and daughter, Jessica Mai Wallsmith.
