Cal Ripken 10-year-old team captures district crown

The North Gibson 10-year-old All-Stars captured the Cal Ripken 9/10 Little League Northwest District Tournament crown June 22 in Rutherford.
The team went undefeated throughout the tournament and shut out Martin 10- 0 in four innings in the district championship game.
In the opening round of the tournament, the All-Stars faced Trenton and scored four runs in the top of the first inning to take a 4-0 lead. Scoring in the inning were Adam Pickard, Dillion Reynolds, Carter Croom and Myles Halford.
North Gibson added two runs in the top of the second inning with Kyle Bradberry and Pickard both scoring on Reynolds’ double to extend their lead to 6-0. NG All-Stars starting pitcher Dillion In the top of the third inning, Halford scored on a wild pitch, Westin Rodgers scored on a passed ball and TJ Overstreet scored on an infield single by Isiah Rice to make it 9-0 NG All-Stars. They added four more runs in the top of the fourth with Joe Hudgins, Croom, Halford and Overstreet all scoring to extend their lead to 13-0. The final score was 13-3.
Dillion Reynolds was the winning pitcher with Kyle Bradberry earning the save.
Tuesday night, North Gibson defeated Martin 16-6 in three innings.
Martin jumped out to a 6-0 lead in the top of the first inning, but North Gibson came right back and scored four runs in the bottom of the first and two runs in second to tie the game 6-all. The North Gibson bats exploded in the bottom of the third inning, scoring 10 runs with Adam Pickard and Isiah Rice both hitting two singles, Myles Halford a double, and Dillion Reynolds, Carter Croom, and TJ Overstreet each had a single.
Carter Croom and Myles Halford combined for the win. Hitting were Myles Halford 3-3 with a triple, double and five RBIs; Dillion Reynolds 3-3 with a double and four RBIs; Carter Croom 2-2 with a double; Adam Pickard 2-3 with two RBIs; Isiah Rice 2-2 with a RBI; and TJ Overstreet 1-2 with two RBIs.
North Gibson wasted no time getting their offense started Wednesday night, scoring nine runs in the top of the first inning. Adam Pickard led off the inning with a single to right field, Dillion Reynolds walked, Carter Croom singled, Weston Rodgers was hit by a pitch, TJ Overstreet, Brett Russell and Isiah Rice all walked, Kyle Bradberry, Adam Pickard and Dillion Reynolds hit three consecutive doubles, and Carter Croom singled to give their team a 9-0 lead.
In the bottom of the first, Union City’s scored one run.
North Gibson scored four more runs in the top of the third inning on doubles by Adam Pickard and TJ Overstreet and singles by Kyle Bradberry and Carter Croom to make it 13-1. Rice walked and scored on double to center field by Bradberry. Reynolds ground out scoring Bradberry for a 15-1 victory.
Isiah Rice earned the win with Adam Pickard and Myles Halford closing out the game in relief.
Hitting were Kyle Bradberry 3-4 two double with three RBIs; Adam Pickard 3-4 with two doubles and two RBIs; Carter Croom 3-4 with four RBIs; TJ Overstreet 2-2 with a double and a RBI; and Dillion Reynolds 1-3 with a double and two RBIs.
In the championship game, North Gibson shut out Martin 10-0 Friday night. In the bottom of the second, the North Gibson bats came alive, and the team scored eight runs. Carter Croom led off the inning with a single to left field followed by a single by Myles Halford. Joe Hudgins and TJ Overstreet both were hit by a pitch. Kyle Bradberry and Adam Pickard both singled and scored off a double by Dillion Reynolds. Croom singled and scored on Halford’s double to give North Gibson an 8-0 lead.
In the fourth inning with two outs, Reynolds tripled to right centerfield and Croom was hit by a pitch. Halford hit a double to centerfield to score Reynolds and Croom for the 10-0 win.
Winning pitcher was Dillion Reynolds. He pitched a complete game shutout allowing no walks, no runs, three hits and struck out two batters. Hitting were Myles Halford 3-3 with a double and five RBIs; Dillion Reynolds 2-3 with a triple, double and three RBIs; Carter Croom 2-2; Kyle Bradberry 1-3 with a RBI; and Adam Pickard 1-3.
