City, county saturation rounds up suspected Crips
Residents concerned by helicopters searching city
Ashley Thomas is suspected to be associated with the Crips gang in Memphis.
Earlier this month, a saturation of Humboldt by law enforcement culminated with several arrests including some at a Crip (gang) house at 1211 Mitchell St. Many residents noticed law enforcement helicoptors patrolling the city during the day and into the evening.
Several state agencies, the U.S. Marshals and various county agencies were involved in the June 15 operation. Among them are the TBI, THP, THP Interdiction Plus, THP Aviation unit, Department of Safety and Homeland Security, U.S. Marshals, West TN Violent Crime and Drug Task Force, Humboldt PD, Gibson County Sheriff’s Department, Milan PD, Jackson PD Aviation Unit, JPD Gang Unit, Jackson/Madison County Metro Narcotics, Lexington PD, Henderson County Sheriff’s Office, TDOC Probation and Parole and TDOC OIC.
The effort resulted in16 probation/parole searches and 35 traffic citations.
A search warrant at 1211 Mitchell Street, which authorities identified as a Crip house. There the head Crip admitted that they got rid of everything when they saw units start riding. Two were arrested for warrants.
Arrested during operation are:
•Joseph Coker- warrant for failure to appear
•Bradley Crouch- arrested on warrants for violation probation and failure to appear
•Andrew Curry- arrested for a revoked license
•Larnce Davis Jr- warrant failure to appear
•Brandon Hurst- violation probation warrant
•Conrad Johnson arrested on warrant for violation probation
•Tony McHaney Jr.- arrested and charged with assault
•Michael Robbins- arrested on warrant for aggravated burglary
•Tamozsheiea Russell – simple domestic arrest warrant
•Darius Sharp- simple possession schedule 6
•Leonard Smith – arrested for disorderly conduct, public intoxication and resisting arrest
•Ashley Thomas – Probation violation warrant; authorities say he is a leader of the Crips out of Memphis.
•Krystal West – arrested possession Schedule VI (approximately 1.8 grams marijuana)
•Steven Todd Gordon- Arrest negated
•Brandon Hurst – Violation probation warrant
•Conrad Johnson – arrested on warrant for violation probation
•Norma Luna – arrest negated
•During the saturation, an armed robbery occurred at Walgreens in Milan and trooper involved in saturation pursued the subject. The suspected wrecked and the THP helicopter found him laid out in a ditch. Douglas Wells was arrested for armed robbery, DUI, reckless driving, evading arrest, suspended license, speeding and no insurance.
