Bernice Coble Freeman

Services for Mrs. Bernice Coble Freeman, 94, were held at 2 p.m. on Monday, April 3, 2017 in the Shelton-Hunt Funeral Home chapel with Dr. Greg McFadden officiating. Burial followed in Rose Hill Cemetery. Visitation was Sunday from 5 until 7 p.m. and Monday from noon until service time.

Mrs. Freeman, a former employee of Wayne Knitting Mill, Sears, the Humboldt school system and a member of the Humboldt First Baptist Church, passed away Friday, March 31, 2017 at her home in Humboldt. She was known for her sense of humor as well as her love of her church and family. She also enjoyed cooking and working in her flowers.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Roy Lawler Freeman; parents, John Henry and Jeanettie Jane Mays Coble; and siblings, Rebecca, Kenneth, Harris and James.

Mrs. Freeman is survived by her two daughters, Brenda Rowlett of Jackson, Tenn. and Joan Lessenberry of Humboldt, Tenn.; a sister, Ruth McMinn of the Edison community; a brother, Billy Coble of Edison; four grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren; and special caregivers, Bertha and Shounda Palmer.
