Mcbeth charged with attempted murder

Shortly before 1 p.m. on Friday, March 24, officers from the Humboldt Police Department responded to a residence at 2725 Ferrell St. regarding a shooting.

Upon arrival, officers made contact with 18-year-old Daniel Clay Mcbeth and a 34-year-old visitor to the home who had suffered multiple gunshot wounds.  Upon further investigation, it was determined that Mcbeth shot the visitor after the two exchanged words.

Mcbeth was taken into custody for investigation and was later charged with attempted second degree murder.

Mcbeth is currently being held at the Gibson County Correctional Complex without bond until his next court appearance, scheduled for March 28 in General Session court in Trenton, Tenn.

The victim who was shot is being treated at The Med in Memphis, Tenn. and was listed in critical, but stable condition.
