Gary Ray Greenup

Funeral services for Gary Ray Greenup, age 72, were held Tuesday, March 14, 2017 at 11 a.m. at the Humboldt First Baptist Church in Humboldt, Tenn. Burial followed at Bradford Cemetery. Visitation with the family was held Sunday from 3 until 6 p.m. at Hunt Funeral Home in Bradford and on Monday from 4 until 8 p.m. at Humboldt First Baptist Church in Humboldt.
Mr. Greenup was born in Gibson County, Tennessee on April 28, 1944 and passed away Friday, March 10, 2017 at Jackson-Madison County General Hospital after a lengthy illness.
He attended school in Bradford and was a 1971 graduate of the University of Tennessee, Knoxville.  Mr. Greenup served in the U.S. Army from 1965-1967 spending most of 1966 with the 1st Cavalry Division in Vietnam. He was employed in the automobile business for most of his career and was a former mayor of Bradford.
Mr. Greenup is survived by his daughter, Jenna Greenup of Murfreesboro, Tenn.; two sons, Jordan Greenup of Humboldt and Grayson Greenup of Humboldt; two sisters, Linda (Tom) Badgett of Jackson, Tenn. and Pam (Terry) Williams of Cresson, Tex.; one brother, Roger (Shirley) Greenup of Brentwood, Tenn.; and mother, Maggie Nell Greenup of Bradford, Tenn.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Donna Ford Greenup; his father, Paul Raymond Greenup; and sister, Carolyn Joan Steele.
