Alderman charged with harassment

Alderman Don Graves

Humboldt alderman, Don Graves, has had another run-in with the law. Graves was served a criminal summons through General Sessions Court of Gibson County on February 27.

An affidavit of complaint was filed by a Jackson woman, alleging harassment.

“Don Graves continues to contact me through text messages, phone calls and facebook after being told not to have contact with myself from Humboldt Police Department. The last time he contacted me was 2/14/17 at 12:35 a.m. by sending me a message on facebook. I don’t want anything to do with him. He has been told several times not to contact me,” the complaint affidavit states.

According to officials, Graves turned himself into the Gibson County Sheriff’s Department last Friday and was charged with harassment. A court date is set for March 8 in Humboldt at 9 a.m.

Graves has a pending court date stemming from an altercation at the Humboldt Police Department where he was charged with disorderly conduct, assault and resisting arrest in December of last year. That court date is set for March 29 in Humboldt.
