Weakley County High School Football Pick’em: Week 7

Westview’s Miles Brown (3) runs for the end zone against Lausanne during a high school football game at Hardy Graham Stadium on Sept. 26, 2025.

One Weakley County game seems to keep me from having a perfect record in the county each week. Two weeks ago, I missed Gleason’s win over Lake County. So I picked Gleason last week, and Perry County came up to Tater Town and picked up the win.

I went 10-5 with my picks last week overall with a 3-1 mark in Weakley County picks. I am now 16-6 (.727 winning percentage) with my picks in the county.

Outside of the county, I missed South Gibson’s win over Dyer County, Crockett County’s win over North Side and McNairy Central’s win over Bolivar.

After six weeks, I am 66-24 (.733) with my picks across West Tennessee.

So here is hoping for an even better week in Week 7:

Ripley (0-6, 0-2 7-3A) at Westview (5-0, 2-0)

When: 7 p.m., Friday

The Tigers have been shutout five times already this season and have one touchdown in six games. This is the perfect game for Westview’s defense to show what was learned after last week’s close win over Lausanne.

Odom’s Pick: Westview 55, Ripley 0

Gleason (2-4, 1-1 7-1A) at South Fulton (5-0, 2-0)

When: 7 p.m., Friday

The Red Devils’ defense shut out a second opponent on the season last week. Gleason was shutout for the second time this season. The Bulldogs need to figure out some offensive consistency to pull out a win here.

Odom’s Pick: South Fulton 33, Gleason 24

Dresden (4-2) at McEwen (3-1)

When: 7 p.m., Friday

The Lions are averaging 50 points per game over the past four weeks, which has resulted in four straight wins. McEwen hasn’t scored over 24 points in a game this season. Dresden’s defense will try to do the same to lead the team to another win.

Odom’s Pick: Dresden 32, McEwen 24

Humboldt (2-4, 1-2 7-1A) at Greenfield (3-3, 1-1)

When: 7 p.m., Friday

The Yellowjackets had their best defensive showing last week in shutting out West Carroll. Humboldt brings some speed, but Greenfield will try to have another big defensive outing to rise above .500 on the season and in the region.

Odom’s Pick: Greenfield 35, Humboldt 12

Best of the West

Milan (6-0, 3-0 7-2A) at Union City (2-4, 1-1)

Odom’s Pick: Milan

Odom’s Pick: Lexington

Halls (2-4, 0-2 7-2A) at Peabody (6-0, 3-0)

Odom’s Pick: Peabody

Gibson County (0-6, 0-3 7-2A) at JCM (1-5, 0-3)

Odom’s Pick: JCM

West Carroll (1-5, 0-3 7-1A) at Lake County (3-2, 0-1)

Odom’s Pick: Lake County

Fayette Academy (1-5, 0-2 D2-A) at Tipton-Rosemark (3-3, 2-1)

Odom’s Pick: Tipton-Rosemark

Fayette-Ware (2-4) at Oakhaven (3-2)

Odom’s Pick: Fayette-Ware

Dyersburg (5-1) at Crockett County (5-1)

Odom’s Pick: Crockett County

Odom’s Pick: Jackson Christian

Liberty (4-1) at Bruceton (4-2)

Odom’s Pick: Bruceton

Haywood (4-2, 3-0 8-4A) at Millington (2-4, 1-2)

Odom’s Pick: Haywood
