With a post on his X-account (formerly Twitter), Milan senior running back Jaydon Peete has made his college decision.

Peete, the 2024 Tennessee Titans Class 2A Mr. Football winner, has committed to play college football at UT Martin. Peete also had offers from Austin Peay, Eastern Kentucky, Indianapolis University and North Alabama.

Peete helped the Bulldogs reach the Class 2A state championship last year and finish the season with a 13-2 record. Milan was the Region 6-2A champion.

At the end of the regular season, Peete was named one of three finalist for the Tennessee Titans Class 2A award and became just the third player in Milan history to be named Mr. Football. He was also named the 2024 All-Gibson County football player of the year.

Peete recorded 2,348 rushing yards with 32 touchdowns on 218 carries, averaging 10.8 yards per carry, while catching 10 passes for 272 yards and three touchdowns. Defensively, he had 94 total tackles with 19 assists, 15 tackles for loss, two pass breakups, two forced fumbles and three fumble recoveries.

UTM Martin went 9-5 last season with a 6-2 mark in conference play. Skyhawks reached the NCAA Division I Football Championship playoffs, beating New Hampshire 41-10 before losing to top-seeded Montana State 49-17.
