Top 15 high school athletic performances from Gibson County from 2024-25 school year

Throughout the month of June, we have looked back at the most memorable games, top teams and top coaching jobs across Gibson County.

In our final look back at the 2024-25 school year, we will look at the top 15 athletic performances in a season.

1. Jaydon Peete (Milan football, Jr.) – Peete was the Tennessee Titans Class 2A Mr. Football winner as he led the Bulldogs to the Class 2A state championship game, and he was the 2024 All-Gibson County football player of the year. He recorded 2,348 rushing yards with 32 touchdowns on 218 carries, averaging 10.8 yards per carry, while catching 10 passes for 272 yards and three touchdowns. Defensively, he had 94 total tackles with 19 assists, 15 tackles for loss, two pass breakups, two forced fumbles and three fumble recoveries.

2. Cade Allen (South Gibson baseball, Jr.) – Allen, a Tennessee commitment, helped the Hornets to a top-four finish in the Class 3A state tournament as he went 6-2 on the mound to go with two saves over 63 innings pitched, striking out 108 with a 0.56 ERA and a .131 batting average against. He also batted .280 with 11 doubles, 31 RBI and 30 runs. He is a 2025 All-Gibson County baseball co-player of the year.

3. Tommy Baker (South Gibson baseball, Jr.) – Baker helped the Hornets to a top-four finish in the Class 3A state tournament as he batted .385 with 16 doubles, six triples, four home runs, 34 RBI and 51 runs. He is a 2025 All-Gibson County baseball co-player of the year.

4. Aubrey Colvin (South Gibson girls soccer, Sr.) – Colvin, the 2024 All-Gibson County girls soccer player of the year, helped lead the Lady Hornets to the Class AA state quarterfinals as she recorded 40 goals and 13 assists.

5. Jade Reed (South Gibson girls basketball, So.) – Reed, the 2024-25 All-Gibson County girls basketball player of the year, helped lead the Lady Hornets to the Class 3A semifinals as she averaged 11.1 points, 6.0 rebounds, 2.7 steals and 2.0 assists, while shooting 65.3 percent from the field.

6. Kendrick Taylor (Humboldt boys basketball, Sr.) – Taylor, the 2024-25 All-Gibson County boys basketball player of the year, helped lead the Vikings to the Class 1A semifinals as he averaged 15.1 points and 5.1 rebounds.

7. Camryn Greene (Milan softball, Jr.) – Greene, the 2025 All-Gibson County softball player of the year, helped lead the Lady Bulldogs to the Class 2A state tournament for the first time as she went 17-6 in the circle with 232 strikeouts and a 1.08 ERA. She also batted .489 with three home runs, 10 doubles, 48 hits and 33 RBI.

8. Ryder Patterson (Peabody boys basketball, Sr.) – Patterson, a member of the 2024-25 All-Gibson County boys basketball first team, helped lead the Golden Tide to the Class 2A sectionals as he averaged 16.1 points, 6.8 rebounds, 1.9 assists and 1.3 steals.

9. Celeste Griffin (Peabody girls soccer, Sr.) – Griffin, a member of the 2024 All-Gibson County girls soccer team, helped lead the Lady Tide to the Region 7-A semifinals as she recorded 42 goals and three assists.

10. Hannah Prestininzi (Gibson County volleyball, Sr.) – Prestininzi, the 2024 All-Gibson County volleyball player of the year, helped lead the Lady Pioneers to the Class A state tournament as she recorded 785 assists, 126 digs, 92 aces, 73 kills and 11 blocks.

11. Cade Beaver (South Gibson football, Jr.) – Beaver, a member of the 2024 All-Gibson County football team on defense, helped the Hornets finish third in Region 6-4A as he had a team-leading 103 total tackles with 15 tackles for loss, one sack, one fumble recovery, four pass breakups and two interceptions.

12. Sierra Healy (South Gibson girls soccer, Sr.) – Healy, a member of the 2024 All-Gibson County girls soccer team, helped lead the Lady Hornets to the Class AA state quarterfinals as she recorded 30 goals and 16 assists.

13. Marleigh Chicantek (South Gibson girls golf, So.) – Chicantek, the 2024 All-Gibson County girls golfer of the year, averaged a 74.75 over four rounds of postseason play. She finished 13th at the Class AA state tournament with a 152 (79-73).

14. Landon Brown (South Gibson boys soccer, Sr.) – Brown, the 2025 All-Gibson County boys soccer player of the year, helped lead the Hornets to the Class AA state quarterfinals as he recorded 17 goals and six assists. He has signed to play at Central Baptist.

15. Sydney Scott (South Gibson softball, Sr.) – Scott, a member of the 2025 All-Gibson County softball team, helped lead the Lady Hornets to the Class 3A sectionals as she batted .436 with 13 doubles, two triples and two home runs to go with 30 RBI, 12 stolen bases and 35 runs.
