Top 5 Weakley County area high school basketball games in Week 3

Gleason’s Kade Sawyers (3) lays the ball up to the basket against Houston County during a high school basketball game at Gleason on Nov. 25, 2024.
Hoping all of the readers had a great Thanksgiving holiday with great food and time spent with family.
With my 5-0 start to the season, my Thanksgiving week was great. I picked all five games correctly for a 1.00 winning percentage.
But the third week of the season with bring some even tougher games:
Gleason (3-1) at West Carroll (0-1) (Girls; 6 p.m. on Tuesday) – The Lady War Eagles haven’t played in two weeks, while the Lady Bulldogs are playing well over the last three games. Gleason will try to get a lead in this one and utilize its bench to develop depth.
Odom’s Pick: Gleason
Bradford (1-3) at Greenfield (2-2) (Girls; 6 p.m. on Tuesday) – The Lady Red Devils are coming off their first win of the season, while the Lady Yellowjackets are coming off back-to-back losses to Gibson County. Greenfield learned from those losses and will be looking to get back to winning with this one at home.
Odom’s Pick: Greenfield
Bradford (4-0) at Greenfield (2-3) (Boys; 7:15 p.m. on Tuesday) – The Red Devils have matched every test so far this season. Greenfield has a young team that has talent. The Yellowjackets will have to put four quarters together and limit turnovers to have a chance in this one.
Odom’s Pick: Bradford
Dresden (1-1) at Halls (0-3) (Girls; 6 p.m. on Friday) – The Lady Lions won the first meeting easily, but this one is the third game of a three-game road trip. Dresden will look to find success playing outside of Weakley County, and this just might be a key.
Odom’s Pick: Dresden
Gleason (3-1) at Bradford (4-0) (Boys; 7:15 p.m. on Friday) – This should be a great measuring stick for both teams. Bradford could be 5-0 going into this one, while Gleason has played well all season also – outside of a blowout loss to 3A Obion County. Drake Lehmkuhl will try to dominate around the post, while Bradford has lots of shooters.
Odom’s Pick: Bradford
