Weakley County High School Football Pick’em: Playoff quarterfinals

Westview’s Donteze Joy (1) scores against Dyersburg in the second round of the Class 3A playoffs at Hardy Graham Stadium on Nov. 15, 2024.
Two weeks of playoffs, and two weeks of solid picks. I went 12-2 last week with my misses coming on Melrose’s win over Haywood and Springfield’s upset of Henry County.
But the quarterfinals get tougher. Two big rematches that are going to be tough to call. Westview hosts Covington in one rematch, while Milan hosts Huntingdon in another rematch.
Overall, I am 151-37 (.803 winning percentage) with my picks this season with a 26-3 (.897) mark in the playoffs.
Down to six matchups, but here are the quarterfinals.
Covington (11-1) at Westview (12-0)
Graham Simpson had to break the state record for passing yards in a game with 624 yards to win the first meeting. Another big offensive game will be needed to win again. It’s hard to beat a good team twice, so Coach Matt McConnell don’t hate me. Use it as motivation.
Odom’s Pick: Covington 42, Westview 38
