“Excuse me,” Victor Parkins replied too early on a Monday morning.

“I just needed the playoffs to jumpstart my picks,” I replied.

“I still own a six-game lead on you, my friend,” Parkins laughed.

“No, I surrendered last week. We started new in the playoffs. Remember all teams were 0-0 going into last week,” I said.

“Whatever you want to believe. Whatever you want to believe,” Parkins laughed as he shook his head.

I went 14-1 last week with my picks, while Parkins was 12-3. We both missed Middle College beating Halls, but Parkins also missed Station Camp’s win over North Side and Chester County’s win over Creek Wood – although Chester County’s win came in double overtime.

Parkins is now 145-30 (.853 winning percentage) with a 12-3 (.800) mark in the playoffs. I am now 139-36 (.794) with a 14-1 (.933) mark in the playoffs. Parkins holds an overall six-game lead on the season.

Let’s hope for another week of good picks in the second round:

The Bulldogs have one loss on the season, and it is to JCM. I think it is time for a little revenge. Milan has a kicker in Josh Shook, who wasn’t on the team in the first meeting, and I expect Milan to clean up some mistakes.
