Weakley County Football Pick’em: Week 7

Bam! Back to perfection in picking all four games involving Weakley County teams this week, including putting my faith in Dresden to go on the road and beat a Class 4A team.

But I wasn’t perfect overall.

I went 11-3 last week. I missed Milan’s win over Huntingdon, Chester County’s win over South Gibson and Dyer County’s win over Crockett County.

The Fairley-Covington game was ruled a no contest due to the weather, so that is why only 14 games were counted.

Hurricane Helene moved many games up to Thursday night this week, so let’s hope for a normal week in Week 7.

Overall, I am 69-19 (.784 winning percentage) with my picks this season.

Week 7, here we come:

Westview (6-0, 3-0 7-3A) at Dyersburg (4-2, 2-1)

This is one of the two teams that beat the Chargers in region play last season, and this was also the team that ended Westview’s season in the second round of the Class 3A playoffs. Time for payback.

Odom’s Pick: Westview 28, Dyersburg 21

Union City (4-2, 3-0 7-1A) at Dresden (2-4, 1-2)

Last year, this matchup decided the Region 7-1A champion. Union City is the favorite to win the region this year. Dresden has won two straight games, but can they pull the upset?

Odom’s Pick: Union City 38, Dresden 21

Gleason (3-3, 0-3 7-1A) at Lake County (3-3, 2-2)

The Bulldogs are on a three-game losing skid, and all three losses have come in Region 7-1A play. Injuries and illness have played a role in the three losses. Lake County ended a two-game losing streak last Friday.

Odom’s Pick: Lake County 27, Gleason 24

Greenfield (4-2, 2-2 7-1A) at South Fulton (5-1, 2-1)

The Yellowjackets want to forget about last week’s loss to Union City, but things don’t get much easier this week as they play a South Fulton team whose only loss is to Union City.
