Kyle Pack named new football coach at Gibson County
Gibson County has a new football as Kyle Pack was named the new coach on Friday.
“ I’m very excited to be home again,” Pack said via press release. “It’s surreal coming back to be the head coach of the program I grew up in. I’m very much looking forward to growing the program, but more importantly, helping grow the young men in it.”
Pack replaces Charles Rogers, who resigned this past spring.
Pack is a 2000 graduate of Gibson County and played all four years for the Pioneers. He served as an assistant coach at Gibson County from 2012-15 before he left for Westview.
Pack has spent the past seven years as the head coach at Martin Middle School. He led them to a finish in the TMSAA sectionals last season.
“I know it’s pretty cool for Kyle and his boys that he is back at the place where this all started for him,” Gibson County athletic director Michael Wickersham said. “Not only did we get a great guy and a great coach in here, we got a man that has a vested interest in this school, the football program and this community. We know our football program is in good hands with Coach Pack. We can’t wait to watch them grow as men and learn life skills through football, under his Leadership.”
Gibson County went 1-9 last season
Kyle graduated from UT Martin in 2006 with a BS in Education, with a certification in Health and PE. He also graduated with his MAEd from Union University in 2009.
